Randomness with many links

I played a really fun show with Matthew Perryman Jones last night at City Hall here in Nashville. Trent Dabbs, K.S. Rhoads and Peter Barbee were all on the bill as well.

It was a fun night. Matthew's set went really well and I got to catch up with a bunch of friends I haven't seen enough of lately. And there was some great music.

Also there was a fashion show. This was different from the shows I typically play.

My parents were in town for the weekend. It was good to have some conversation and see them interacting with the girls. Mark and Brenda Whiten and their boys stopped by, too, and it was nice to catch up with them.

My good friend Jason is having a CD re-release party tonight. Interesting, I know. He's playing at The Rutledge at 8. I think Cason and Kevin Mann are involved in some way, as well. If you're in town, please head over and support him.

I've been working like crazy in the studio the past week, and the next couple of weeks as well. I played guitar and sang on an EP Mitch is producing for Justin McRoberts. He has some really great tunes. One of them has the line:

the question isn't "are you going to die?"
it's "will you be done living when you do?"

The melody he sings this to is just plaing gorgeous and I can't get it out of my head. I can't wait to hear the finished product.

Tonight we're going to spend a little time with our friends the Odmarks and their new baby boy, Dylan. He is very cute.

Friday night Ella started sleeping in a big girl bed. This is giant news. She loves it. She's also just discovered Winnie the Pooh. I believe we've read the one Winnie book we have about seven hundred times in the last four days.

Speaking of, Ella is up from her nap now so we're going to hang out. I'll be back tomorrow, with a nice, hungry post.

Dude, Roads is the man. Great tunes and a great showman. Was there any word on his album that he's been hinting at? I'm sure he was great, but even he must bow to the almighty rock powers of Osenga.

We enjoyed the visit, too. So glad it worked out. Tell your dad I'm getting some glasses like his the first chance I get. And as for the sudoku book we swapped...dude, I can't for the life of me, figure out how you worked all those puzzles in PEN. Genious. It was 110 today, BTW.
