Tonight in Nashville
Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 01:32AM
I just got back from my set at 3rd and Lindsley tonight. What a fun time. My band was fantastic, and completely unrehearsed. Paul Eckberg, Aaron Sands and Nick Flora. Very good group of guys to make a little music with.
The highlight seemed to be a fairly extended version of "When Will I Run" off the Photographs album. I'm heading to NC to meet up with my family tomorrow, so I closed with an old Normals tune "I'll Be Home Soon." It felt fitting.

they didn't know what hit 'em.
You played a fairly extended version of "When Will I Run" in tomball a while back that blew my face off.
Hey, Andrew, just heard "Santa Barbara" on the maccast podcast, he's done a nice bit of promo for you. there. You must have spent a good deal of time in SB, as I recognized nearly every image. Nice song, got that Americana feel all over it. I'm a songwriter myself in Santa Monica and wrote my own "Santa Barbara" in 2004, it's one of my favorites; it's much different than yours, but with a surprising bit of similarity in the way we approached the title line. I'm a bit older than you, turned 59 last week, who used to rock around L.A. a bit and did a good bit of recording in the '70s. Just do the occasional coffeehouse these days, but have recorded most of my recent songs as rough demos. Don't know the best way to get a copy of my Santa Barbara to you, tunes are unsually too big for most incoming email servers, but I think you might like it if we can figure out a way to transfer. Email me if you're interested. Best, Patrick
If it was the same version as you played in Tomball, I'm sure it rocked just as hard. You should record that version.
Andy - I went to the East River Company's website, and they are playing an instrumental version of "Marilyn" from "The Morning." It's beautiful! Is that track available anywhere?
love that song man. One of my favorites.
