how many hipsters can you fit in a pizza joint?

Last night's show? Fun. Loud. Packed. Beyond packed. My band was fantastic (Chris Weigel, Paul Eckberg, my cousin Dean) and we did about seven songs. I played the Les Paul the whole time, and thoroughly enjoyed the working pedal board. We ended with Santa Barbara and it just felt amazing.

Thanks to everybody who came out, stood in line and smelled a lot of B.O. to hear us play some music. It was a great night. You can see a bunch of pictures here. They focus a bit more on the t-shirt design company more than the rock and roll. Here is a shot of the room, though, right before we started playing...

Geof drove up, took a ton of pictures and recorded the show. It will no doubt find its way into a bittorrent soon, so stay tuned and I'll post links.

Kevin Lawson's
set was really fun to watch. I played drums on one song, unbeknownst to Kevin. Wish I had a picture of his face when he turned around to see me. Priceless. At one point he yelled out "everyone in the choir sing along with the Kevolution!" and everybody did. Wonderful. If you ever get a chance to see Kevin play, you need to.

Faith Gilmore also did a great job. It was the first time I'd heard her and I was impressed. Many thanks also to Dean, who put on the whole night. And who was impeccably dressed.

I have another show to upload first [from October], but I'll probably have this one done later this week. I'd probably be farther along if I hadn't slept my afternoon away, but ... these are the prices I pay for rock and roll.

And Andrew, you're too modest to note that the crowd was at its fullest for your set, so I'll do it for you. A fun night, especially thanks to the folks at Christopher Pizza, who seemed to adopt me as quasi-staff before the night was over.

Like I said last night, that was the best rendition of "Santa Barbara" that I've heard. I'm looking forward to hearing you play more shows with a band around town.
