Hometown Love

Last night's show with Matthew Perryman Jones and Sandra McCracken was a blast. The place was so packed people couldn't get in a crowd was outside listening. A bunch of the Square Pegs were out in support as well, and it was good to see some old friends. Jones' set was so loud I thought I blew my amp because I couldn't hear it. Anyway, it was a blast and many thanks to all of you who came out. Now we need to pack out this show...

For all of you in the Nashville area, I'd love your help in telling people about the show and trying to pack the place out. And if there are any of you who might want to help hang up flyers around town, please send me an e-mail. Dave, my old intern, is helping to put together a crew to get the word out.
It's fun to be playing around town again, and with the old crew that I started playing with in the first place. A lot of who is now the Square Peg Alliance used to do these local shows all the time, then we all started getting married and buying houses and having babies and it seems like we're all just getting really excited to be doing this again, but it's all the more precious because we know how lucky we are to have a community so talented, creative and encouraging. Anyway, I'm looking forward to more of these shows and excited to be playing the new record live at the next one.

That was a great show last night. My sister and I traveled in from Chattanooga to see it. It was a late night and hard to get up for work this morning, but it was well worth it.
BTW: I love your new cd and hope to make it to the release party.
I think I've decided that I'm moving to Nashville. I'm tired of only reading about all these amazing shows.
I don't understand the prices on your poster. Why does it cost $3 more for people ages 18-20 than it does for people 21 & older? Is it because you find 18-to-20-year-olds extremely annoying & want to weed them out of your audience with a price hike? If so...well, I approve. :-) Anyway, wasn't sure if the prices were a typo or just something beyond my understanding, so I thought I'd point that out.
Hey Josh, it's because people under 21 can't buy beer, so the venue doesn't make any money off of them. At least that's what they tell me. Maybe they're just age-ists...
It wouldn't miss it. See you then!
I'm coming from Iowa.
